Course Description

A study of the microscopic and macroscopic structure of the various organ systems of the body. Introduction to basic physiological principles as illustrated by the body processes, including nerve, muscle, receptors, transport and homeostatic mechanisms, as well as the correlating activities of the nervous and endocrine systems. Requires dissection of living and preserved animals. Classroom 3 hours, laboratory 2 hours.
Prerequisites: BI101, BI 215 with a grade of C or better or permission of instructor.

BI216 4 Credits

Audio Lecture Notes (only the last six lectures will be on the site at any time).

Lecture Flash Cards
Student testimony: Why you should study the labels

This flash card system is uniquely designed to help you learn the most information in the least amount of time.  In most instances, you will be asked to identify an item in a set of 10 to 20 items.  These items will be presented randomly in a multiple choice, ready choice or fill-in format (your choice) until you get each one correct three times in a row.   In some instances, where the choices for an item are one of two possibilities, (e.g., increase or decrease), a slightly different system will be used.
