Annual Information Assurance Student Symposium

Every year, Norwich University features the best student papers in information assurance, cybercrime and cyberlaw from NU undergraduate and graduate courses in a day-long symposium. In recent years we have been honored by the participation and presence of undergraduate and graduate students from Champlain College, Dartmouth College, St Michael's College, Vermont Technical College and the University of Vermont.

The AIASS is open to the public and there is no charge for admission.

STATUS AS OF 2007-03-27

We had a blast! Twenty-six people registered for the Symposium in Milano Ballroom.

Norwich UniversityPresident Richard Schneider personally greeted every speaker who was available at the start of the Sympsosium and then addressed the group with encouraging words about the important role of information assurance in critical infrastructure protection.

NY Vice President Phil Susmann congratulated the speakers and encouraged continued involvement in the NSA/NSF Scholarships for Service in the information assurance field.

Deans Frank Vanecek (School of Business & Management) and Bill Clements (School of Graduate Studies) spoke warmly of the future of our students in the field and encouraged graduate studies.

Professor Danielle Zeedick, who will be assuming the mantle of Program Director of the Bachelor of Science in Computer Security and Information Assurance program starting 1 July 2007, encouraged freshmen to look forward to the day when they would be presenting their research papers at the Seventh or Eighth Annual Information Assurance Student Symposium.
